·         Twitch said its teams are working with to understand the extent of the breach.

·         An anonymous hacker has claimed to have leaked Twitch data which includes company’s source code and unreleased games.

Amazon Inc’s video livestreaming platform Twitch said on Wednesday that it was hit by a data breach which included clients’ information and unreleased games.

Confirming the breach, Twitch said its "teams are working with urgency to understand the extent of this".

Without providing further details, the company said in a tweet, “We will update the community as soon as additional information is available. Thank you for bearing with us.”

According to Video Games Chronicle, an anonymous hacker has claimed to have leaked Twitch data which includes company’s source code and unreleased games.

The report said that the hacker wanted to "foster more disruption and competition in the online video streaming space.”

In the breach, about 125GB of data was leaked which included information on Twitch’s highest paid video game streamers since 2019.

Twitch, which has more than 30 million average daily visitors, is a popular platform among gamers and musicians who can interact with users while live streaming.

Twitch has recently decided to ban users for hate-groups or threats of violence as the platform was boycotted by users, earlier this year, for not taking measures to block such harassment.
