Activision Blizzard fires over dozen employees over sexual harassment allegations

• About 700 reports of sexual misconduct and other issues were collected by Activision since July

• The move comes after Activision faces pressure from shareholders, staff and business partners

Activision Blizzard Inc (NYSE: ATVI) said on Monday it has fired more than three dozen employees and disciplined another 40 since July over sexual harassment allegations.

After completing reviews, "37 employees have exited the company and another 44 received written reprimands, formal warnings or other discipline," the company said.

The move comes after Activision faces pressure from shareholders, staff and business partners to take action against the allegations.

The videogame giant and maker of “Call of Duty” game said it has not yet notified employees as it is working on an interim update.

"An interim update to our employees is still being worked on and the company remains committed to continuing to provide periodic updates on its progress," the company said, reported Reuters.

According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, Chief Executive Bobby Kotick held back a summary of the information which had been scheduled for release "before the winter holidays," which Activision later denied.

About 700 reports of sexual misconduct and other issues were collected by Activision since July, reported WSJ. A California state agency had filed a lawsuit against the company over harassment claims.

In October, Activision said it had fired more than 20 employees over sexual harassment allegations at workplace.
